The World Poetry Movement is a rapidly growing organization that provides a worldwide forum for creative self expression. Poetry is timeless and pure, poetry is art from the heart. Every living person has a unique point of view and every voice deserves to be heard. World Poetry Movement sponsors a comprehensive series of lectures, seminars, classes, conventions, publications and contests that are designed to nurture and promote the most soulful form of communication known to mankind.
Over the years, the Managing Directors of World Poetry Movement have worked tirelessly to foster an appreciation for this often overlooked art. Our mission is to encourage as many people as possible to create and share poetry. Over the past 15 years, the Managing Directors have awarded over $250,000 in cash and prizes to previously undiscovered poetic talent. In addition, World Poetry Movement maintains ongoing charitable giving that to date has totaled over $50,000. We are also responsible for the creation of the World’s Largest Poem for Peace that includes contributions from President Bill Clinton, The Dalai Lama, Archbishop Desmond Tutu and tens of thousands of other poets from over 70 nations around the world.
